A cocktail perfect for Christmas and New Years Eve. Both of which are very busy days and what we need more then anything is that caffeine boost.

Sure, you could keep yourself topped up with coffee. However, you could also keep yourself topped up with espresso martinis.

And why go for a regular espresso martini when you can make perfectly good caramel and hazelnut espresso martinis from the comfort of your own home.

People get the wrong idea about this classic cocktail. Thinking you need high quality machine espresso to make a good one. The truth is, you can make a perfectly good espresso martini from the comfort of your own home with nothing more then some supermarket vodka, coffee liqueur and instant coffee.

The beauty of making espresso martinis at home is that you can infuse any flavour you like into them. From chocolate to mint and a personal favourite of mine… This caramel and hazelnut espresso martini twist. Designed to be able to make at home. No fancy pants hard to get ingredients involved.

For this recipe you will need…

  1. Vodka

  2. caramel syrup (Which you can pick up on Amazon prime or make from home

  3. Espresso or strong instant coffee

  4. Coffee liqueur

  5. hazelnuts

I couldn’t make a list of top Christmas drinks without including mulled wine. Let’s be honest, is it even December without a hot glass of mulled wine in hand?

It is true, that you could easily go out and buy mulled wine ready to be heated up. However, if you’re a mulled wine fan like myself, then you really need to have a go at making your own.

When making your own mulled wine you have so much more control over the end flavour, add as much as you like or take away as much as you like. From start to finish you control the flavour.

I have a basic recipe for mulled wine which you can find here. Check that out and you will see just how easy it is to make mulled wine yourself. And how cheap it can be as well.

Change the recipe as much or as little as you like to suit your own taste for your perfect mulled wine.

Once you’ve perfected your own mulled wine recipe, you can even bottle it up and gift it to family and friends for a cheap but thoughtful Christmas present.

I couldn’t possibly mention mulled wine without mentioning mulled cider. Currently mulled cider is getting more popular by the year. However, unlike mulled wine which you can buy from near on every shop in December. Mulled cider is harder to get hold of.

Generally, you need to be in a bar or make it yourself to enjoy this one. And so I’ve created the perfect mulled cider recipe for you to follow along with.

Much like the above mulled wine recipe. This recipe is easy to follow, delicious and you can change it along the way to make it suit your own taste preferences.

Nothing quite beats a good o’glass of eggnog around Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, mulled wine comes pretty damn close though. Every year I go through bottle after bottle of mulled wine, I just can’t get enough! Eggnog however, I only ever do one batch which I make closer to Christmas day, almost like a tradition.

What I find is that even though eggnog is massively popular, and most people know what it is, not that many people have actually tried it. Seems to be more popular in American than elsewhere in the world.

So we’re going to change that. Because this deliciously boozy and creamy festive treat deserved to be enjoyed by the masses. Drinking eggnog has been a tradition for hundreds of years and there’s a very good reason for it. It’s delicious!

Now assuming you are making all these drinks you go hun then this is the perfect Christmas recipe to end on. As this recipe involves mixing up that eggnog we have just spoke about.

I know what you are probably thinking after making that eggnog “Oh wow, this is delicious, how could this get better?” Well…More booze and chocolate is a good start.

For this recipe you will need;

  1. Eggnog

  2. Amarula vanilla spice cream liqueur

  3. Chocolate milk

  4. Whip cream

  5. Chocolate, nutmeg and whatever you want to sprinkle on top

With just 3 ingredients to the drink itself; eggnog, Amarula vanilla spice and chocolate milk. It makes this recipe super simple to make. You can also substitute all of the ingredients if you don’t like them or cant get them.

Swap the eggnog for double cream and milk, swap the cooled hot chocolate for chocolate milk or swap the Amarula for Baileys.

The Amarula vanilla spice works beautifully but if you swap that out for mint baileys you get a completely different but similar drink. Once you have your eggnog and chocolate. You can be as creative as you like.
