Created by Chris Ojeda at the West Hollywood bar and restaurant ‘Soho House’ the Picante De La Casa cocktail also goes by the name ‘Soho House Tonic’ as it quickly became the most popular serve in all the Soho Houses globally. The popularity of this cocktail has been solidified in 2021 when it made it to the 17th spot on the Diffords Guides top 100 cocktail list.

Best described as a Tommy Margarita with a spicy and herbaceous twist, this cocktail uses a Tequila base paired with both chili and coriander for an interesting and very much moorish sipper!

A modern classic and a twist on the Magarita. This picante de la casa, which is also known as the soho house tonic as a nod to it's creation, is a must try for any tequila, margarita, or spice lover.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut the top of the chili, save that for garnishing, with the rest of the chili, cut in half and deseed.
  2. In a shaker, add the pinch of coriander and deseeded chili. Muddle lightly then add over the Tequila, agave and fresh lime juice.
  3. Fill with ice and shake well.
  4. Finely strain into a rocks glass filled with cubed ice and garnish with the reserved chili top.
